Vineyard Sale Rocked

I didn't make it to the Manitoba Craft Council one but my girl and I did make it to the Vineyard sale.  It was two floors of awesomeness.  We just buzzed through because my 4 1/2 yr old wanted to go to Chapters for a date but collected lots of cards of potential buys, picked up some chocolate tree ornaments again from Decadence Chocolate because they were such a hit with the kids last year, some treats from the $1 baked table, and a couple art magnets from Wendy Lee.  The cards I took were mostly for items for me so I will visit them again after Christmas since this is a time for giving. ;)

I love that there were many new tables.  It was also INSANELY busy which is great for the crafty people there.  Hope lots of you got there and/or other craft sales this week.  I am off to enjoy this beautiful day.  :)

Jbirds & Sonshine Handmade Wooden Letter Blocks

Rochelle's Craftnook's Clips, Bibs, I-Spy Bags, and TUTUS!

I was bragging about these I-Spy bags that I bought from a local crafter to a friend.  She is heading to Washington DC with the whole family in their minivan.  She thought the idea was great and wanted me to find her some asap.  :)  I log into my Gmail and who contacts me but a new to me crafter Rochelle's Craftnook who indeed makes I-Spy Bags which is good because I am unsure if my regular I-Spy bag crafter is still making them.  Such a strange coincidence.  Enough with the story...I am sure you want to know about Rochelle.

Whimsies Baby

Olivia of Whimsies Baby creates beautiful baby crocheted items such as hats, dolls, rattles as well as non-crocheted items such as framed embroidery and sewn items.  Olivia is from Brandon and her cute hats and other baby items can be found on Facebook and her Etsy shop.  Have a peak especially if you have a new little baby in your life.  There is nothing cuter than a baby with monkey ears.  ;)

Sweet Sparrow's Making Pocket Diapers Locally

Sweet Sparrow is a Mom and Daughter duo sewing diapers, wipes, and wet bags out of Morden.  They have perfected the pocket diaper with a combination of soft bamboo fleece that is naturally antibacterial and soft for sensitive skin, a laminated polyester outer layer to keep clothes dry, and a tri-fold insert that has one super soft layer of moisture-wicking bamboo fleece and one side absorbent microfiber.  The bamboo fleece is safe to put next to the babies skin and the microfibre locks the moisture inside and away from baby.  They also are using a one sized design that allows a snug fit regardless if you baby is a newborn, long, short, chubby, or lean with four rise and four waist settings.

Along with their diapers they sell large cloth wipes and wet bags made to store in your bag for diaper changes or other wet items.

I know there are many diaper companies out there but again it is very easy to shop local for the same or less money.  The diaper makers I know here have children.  They have tested them on their own kiddos and have found them the best design for baby's comfort.

I really think that Manitoba is the home of every talented Mom alive.  :D  There are so many awesome Moms sewing, knitting, and crocheting away unique and cute baby & kid items.  Maybe it is the long cold winters that drive these ladies to these ancient trades.  Whatever it is I am glad these arts have not died in our modern world.

Trendy Babies

Trendy Babies was introduced to me by one of my readers. This is a local company that sells a wide variety of neat baby things like (pacifier) binky bling & clips, crocheted hats, head bands, bows & bow holders, mitten clips, booties, clothes, and baby room decor and accessories. Amanda is the owner of Trendy Babies and now sells with a group of moms on her Facebook site. It is a great group that buy and trade home made baby things. Trendy Babies sells what it exclaims loudly with it's name. ;) Everything is hip and modern and the fabric choices are bright and trendy. Trendy babies would wow everyone at baby showers and your little one will rock the playgroup in the fashions she offers.

"A neat thing about our company is that we are actually a group of 15 mamas working together so its not just me! I started a facebook site just to support local stay at home moms and from there, everything just took off! I currently have a waiting list of 7 moms wanting to join, and I get new inquiries every week. My favorite part about Trendy Babies is that I get to help other stay-at-home moms stay at home! (Actually, that's my second favourite, the best part is being able to trade products with all the other mamas who sell with me. LOL).
