I love handmade children's clothes...especially little girl pillow case and apron dresses. The fabrics used seem to be way ahead of the factory made clothes you can buy at the box stores. I also like knowing that someone local made it with care and creativity as they pick the design, choose which fabrics will look great together, and then piece it together for a special little girl. Whimsies Baby

Olivia of Whimsies Baby creates beautiful baby crocheted items such as hats, dolls, rattles as well as non-crocheted items such as framed embroidery and sewn items. Unique Kidz Handmade Baby and Kids Gifts

I really think that Manitoba is the home of every talented Mom alive. :D There are so many awesome Moms sewing, knitting, and crocheting away unique and cute baby & kid items. Maybe it is the long cold winters that drive these ladies to these ancient trades. Whatever it is I am glad these arts have not died in our modern world.

#5 Local Baby Shower Gift: Baby Clothes

I have found some beautiful locally made children's clothes while visiting craft fairs and searching online. One thing I have noticed is that it is primarily little girl's clothing. I wonder if it is a demand issue? Is it because parents do not think handmade clothes are manly enough for their tiny little boys? I have many friends who knit little pants and sweaters for their boys. There isn't much that is cuter than a tiny little boy in a little knit sweater. Unfortunately my opinion must not be the mass's because I still can't find anything for my boy. Last summer I did get an adorable knit puppy sweater made for my boy and I know that Oldhat makes cute little boy hats but baby boy wear is scarce.
